Concert organised as part of MIDEM LIVE 2026. 60th anniversary.
Free. Determined. Tireless.
In nearly 15 years of a busy and successful career, the four boys from Last Train have never let go of the tenacious fervour that burns within them. A quick glance in the rear-view mirror is enough to understand why: two albums, an orchestral project, a short film, a documentary, a mini-series, and at the heart of it all... the stage. More than 600 concerts, from the biggest festivals in Europe to the legendary venues of Paris, filled in no time by an ever-growing and loyal audience. And if the list makes your head spin, it's perhaps because Last Train has never hesitated to aim high. Aim high, aim far, and always aim true, driven by an unyielding guiding principle: creative and strategic independence against all odds.
So after the ambitious Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, a symphonic and extraordinary rewriting of their own songs, Last Train chose to make a sharp turn. Like an urgent response, a visceral reaction. A new step forward, imbued with mature experience and unaltered passion.
Lozère, December 2023. Within the opaque, cold walls of Château de Planchamp, Last Train brings a new chapter in its history to life. Nine tracks shape a dark and confrontational third album. Even its title, III, advocates compact, clean writing, stripped of the superfluous. But as always with Last Train, essential does not rhyme with easy. Nothing in the raw essence of III is gratuitous: the ferocity of the sounds is sometimes contained, sometimes unleashed to heighten the tension, the textures are varied and the emotion skilfully distilled. A barely whispered voice collides with heavy, incisive sounds, and the loop of repeated chords creates a tense, hypnotic mechanism. Freed from the grandiloquent tragedy of its predecessors, III dares to venture into the hostile lands of anger and frustration. The proof lies in the cathartic lyrics, raw testimonies of a reality that Last Train chants with its eternal sincerity.
Charged with this primitive intensity, III puts the true and definitive stamp on what Last Train is all about: a band unlike any other, striking and leaving its mark with its generosity and genuine sensitivity. Armed with this album, sculpted for live performance, its original playground, Last Train set out to conquer the most beautiful stages in Europe: Hellfest, Les Vieilles Charrues, Rock En Seine, but also Lollapalooza in Berlin, Sziget in Budapest and Mad Cool in Madrid... The summer of 2025 confirmed the band's now unassailable status and international ambitions, before they set off again on the road that would take them to their very first Zénith de Paris on 3 October 2026. A new rendezvous between an audience bubbling with impatience and those who seem more determined than ever to let their uniqueness roar.
