With their new album, the British rock band Franz Ferdinand is back brimming with new ideas and experimental sounds. Since their first album in 2004 and in particular thanks to the single "Take Me Out", they won a Mercury Music Prize which propelled them onto the international scene. "Always Ascending" released in 2018 by Domino was recorded in RAK Studios in London and Motorbass in Paris, with the help of the prodigious French producer Philippe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix, Beastie Boys). The mutual affection between the band and the producer can be felt in every groove. Franz Ferdinand expands its playground in an exuberant and euphoric way, creating a sound that singer Alex Kapranos describes as "both futuristic and natural".
Fifteen years after they formed, the 5 Scots in the Glasgow based group, became known with "Take Me Out" in 2005. Today they are back with "Always Ascending" which reveals a hyper dance opus of exuberant and euphoric tones, creating a sound that singer Alex Kapranos describes as "both futuristic and natural". The group has indulged in psychedelic experiments and melodic flights with dark texts that reflect a sick and narcissistic society. These five artists polish their pieces with as much artistic affinity as technical skill.
A group with a strong personality and lots of creativity!
