To hear, to feel, to watch. To listen to the words and movements of others. And from an early age, to encounter two dancing bodies over the course of 45 minutes.
Settle comfortably, wrapped in a sonic landscape, on an island of pebble-shaped cushions. Place a pair of headphones over your ears. Savor short “body stories,” composed from testimonies collected from groups of children, and let them resonate with your own sensations. Sense the presence of a duo moving gently among the audience, then watch their swirling dance, grounded like the traditional pizzica of southern Italy.
This is the experience proposed by Massimo Fusco in this version for young audiences of his work Corps Sonores, created in 2021. Like its adult counterpart, this immersive installation connects the artistic practice developed by the choreographer through experimental projects centered on “being together,” with the somatic methods in which he has also trained. The delicate yet powerful sequences he performs with Nans Pierson invite children aged six and up to shift between listening and watching, and back again.
As lighting sweeps through the space in warm waves, creating a soothing atmosphere, audiences are encouraged to develop their senses and reconnect with their bodies for the duration of the performance.
