Having studied with Boris Belkin in Maastricht and then with Robin Wilson at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he has been praised by Pavel Berman, Emmanuel Pahud and Jean-Jacques Kantorow for his virtuosity and strong musical personality. Invited to perform with numerous European and Asian orchestras, he will make his debut in the 2024–2025 season at the Philharmonie de Paris and La Seine Musicale, as well as in Ireland, Norway and Slovenia. As a Sony Classical artist, he champions both the classical repertoire and projects aimed at reaching new audiences, notably alongside Alex Vizorek and Kim Bernard. He plays a 1770 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin. David Bismuth performs with the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and the Orchestre de Nice, under the baton of conductors such as Andris Nelsons, Jaap van Zweden, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Cornelius Meister, Michel Plasson and Fayçal Karoui. He takes part in numerous festivals: Radio France, Montpellier, La Roque-d’Anthéron, the Festival de Piano aux Jacobins in Toulouse, the Rencontres Chopin in Nohant, La Chaise-Dieu, L’Esprit du piano (Bordeaux), the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and the BBC Hay Festival. He is a sought-after chamber musician, taking part in concert-readings with the actor Didier Sandre and the violinist Geneviève Laurenceau, and sharing the stage with pianists such as Bertrand Chamayou and Adam Laloum.
